Yes, it’s been quite some time. Sorry to keep you all waiting, but it’s been a hectic summer. And it’s going to be a hectic fall. And I don’t even have to go back to school. Although that would be fun. So what have I been up to? Here’s a quick list of things I’ve been keeping myself busy with since May:

Work
Selling a bunch of old stuff on ebay
Went to Cape May, NJ for a week – we stayed at Inn at 22 Jackson again this year – fantastic B&B
rerouted cable to move the tv in the family room from one wall to another – what a pain in the @ss!
planned a trip to London and Paris for the fall

Yeah, sure there’s more than that, but we’ll start there for now. Which brings me to a question for you. What should we see in Paris and London? We’ve been to London and have seen many of the toursity things already. Any other suggestions? We’ve never been to Paris, but we’ll only be there for two days. Any ideas?

I got the email below from a close friend of mine who thought of me this week since the new Indiana Jones movie finally hits theaters. It paints a fairly accurate picture of me and I think I may use it as my bio. Of course, many other things have happened in my life besides the stuff in this email, but this is a fairly accurate description of me. One more thing – I probably won’t go see the new movie until next week at the earliest. And I don’t own a whip. Enjoy:

I know probably have heard of this guy. He grew up in south jersey, outside of philly, loves yuengling, star wars, indiana jones, rocky, and shitty video games and has his own blog- plus he is a total dork. I know, you were thinking I was talking about you, but believe it or not there is someone else. I did not know about this guy until a few months ago when I was screwing around on youtube looking for the answers on how to play some crappy nintendo game. I was amazed that this guys life seemed to mirror mine so much. I remember being so excited when nintendo came out with games like friday the 13th, die hard, back to the future, or teenage mutant ninja turtles. Little did I know these games sucked and were impossible for any human being to win, I just thought I sucked as a human being (really positive thoughts to have in your formative years of life). I remember being so frustrated at how you could never figure out how to play or you got 3 lives to complete the whole game. This guy does a pretty good job of describing that frustation, swearing his face off, then finishing up with a couple of yuenglings or rolling rocks to erase the painful memories of 5th grade. He just put out his new video and it is a rant about the indiana jones games on atari, nintendo and super nintendo. I thought it would be appropriate to send this to you since you are probably standing in line with you brown fedora and fake leather whip with the rest of life’s rejects, waiting for your $20 ticket to watch a 60 year old man do what we could not have done at 20.

Digg Updates Comments System

Digg updated its comments system this week, replacing the sometimes clunky interface previously in use. According to the Digg blog, enhanced features include:

Quicker loading time
More accurate timestamping
New sorting options to see comments posted by time and user
Additional comment editing time and the ability to change votes for existing comments
Preference options to change what this area looks like

I like it so far. It’s much cleaner, but I’ll be sure to offer more detailed feedback once I have more time to play with it.

Comcast to Buy Plaxo

Comcast is purchasing Plaxo, an online contact management company. It basically offers a single location where you can access your friends’ email addresses, phone numbers, etc. This probably means Comcast will use Plaxo as a starting point to develop social networking tools for its customers. Should be interesting to see how this plays out.

New trailers were released this weekend for Batman: The Dark Knight and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. I definitely plan on seeing these two movies this year.

Pearl Jam is Back in the Studio Prepping Ninth Studio Album

Rolling Stone is reporting that Pearl Jam is recording material for a new album with Brendan O’Brien, who produced Yield back in 1998. No speculation on a potential release date, but if I were a betting man, I’d look for it in late winter/early spring 2009 with a tour to follow in the summer. Got my tickets already for June at the whatever-it’s-called-now theater in Camden, NJ. They were expensive this year, so I hope I get good seats.

The Great Crossword Puzzle Dilemma

I spent the better part of a recent Sunday working on a crossword puzzle published in the Orlando Sentinel. I nearly finished it, with the exception of a few lines that I’m either not sure of or couldn’t answer at all. And the not knowing part is driving me crazy! I went to the paper’s site and they apparently publish each day’s puzzle and the solution. The only problem is, it’s not the same puzzle that was printed in the paper that day! If anybody could track down the solution to the April 27 crossword puzzle from the Orlando Sentinel (entitled Side-by-Side Saints by Frank A. Longo) I would be eternally grateful.
